how to get locked photos from sites where have disable the right click copy paste ability

problem
firefox, how to get photos or general media from sites that are not allowed to be copied via right click copy paste method
solution
Firefox supports this feature: right click on the page on an empty area or press the "right click" button of you keyboard as you are not focusing any flash media in the loaded site. Then select View Page Info. Then select the tab media, there you can see all the media are download in you computer. So can save as anything you want. What you cannot see is the media that is handled from plugins like Flash player. For instance, you cannot download youtube videos by this way because this is media is downloaded or downloading by p2p connection and it is not stored in your pc as file.

Error installing Joomla on XAMPP: the XML response that was returned from the server is invalid.

problem
installing Joomla on XAMPP… I get the error: Error: the XML response that was returned from the server is invalid.
solution
install and use XAMPP 1.7 or 1.7.1. http://sourceforge.net/projects/xampp/ good luck

XAMPP, cannot start apache server

problem
XAMPP, cannot start apache server due error
Windows Services error message
Windows could not start the Apache2.2 on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 1.
event: 7024:The Apache2.2 service terminated with service-specific error Incorrect function..

Solution
- Go to at windows services an set as startup type of TeamViewer5 service, Manual.
- Go to at the settings of teamviewer and set it to do not start on start up.
- Do a restart!
- Open the conrol panel of xampp and enable all services as windows service
- Do a final restart.

Apache and Teamviewer are working on the same tcp ip port, the 80. If you want to use Teamviewer together you should change the teamviewer tcp ip port to something else or load the xampp to virtual machine!

Flex, how to round a number, how to convert a Number to Integer, a Number to Text

problem:
Working with numbers (with decimals) might be a nightmare, as a simple division may create a huge number of decimals. The problem is not the calculation but the storing this kind of data in sql databases and the calculation consume a lot of cpu. In case you develop an application that you want to work very fast the solution is to round the number after a division or multiplication.

solutions:

1. Convert a Number to String

toFixed property of Number

The following example shows how toFixed(3) returns a string that rounds to three decimal places.
var num:Number = 7.31343;
trace(num.toFixed(3)); // 7.313

The following example shows how toFixed(2) returns a string that adds trailing zeroes.
var num:Number = 4;
trace(num.toFixed(2)); // 4.00

2. Round a Number (number -> number, no conversion)

Math.round(val:Number):Number
The silly thing is that this function doesn't get argument for how many decimals to you want.
This round function rounds the 0.5 to 1.

3. Convert a Number to Int (rounding)
int(Math.round(0.665)) //  returns 1

how to avoid the activation of your Adobe product

problem:
For some reasons you might want to do activate you Adobe product. If you want to do not allow the application to approach event the server(s) of Adobe, follow the bellow steps

difficulty: 5/10

solution:
the solution is simple, add the servers of the Adobe in the black list of your windows system, so every Adobe application will try get any kind of activation if info, it will fail as you windows system will block the request.
1. edit the file with notepad: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.  (it doesn't have extension)
2. disable your internet connection (from control panel -> network center / connections)

3. add the follow lines at the end of the file (if they don't exist)
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 practivate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 ereg.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 activate.wip3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 wip3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 3dns-3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 3dns-2.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns-2.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns-3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 ereg.wip3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 activate-sea.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 wwis-dubc1-vip60.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 activate-sjc0.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe.activate.com
4. Enable your network connection
--- notes ---

note1: this bypass method doesn't activate any product... you must follow other ways to turn active your Adobe product!

note2: in any case we do not encourage you to crack or to make any illegal activities. Adobe is a great company with huge history that did fight a lot of times Microsoft and because of Adobe we enjoy many powerful things in our computers. This method is published for non commercial use of products or in case where the activation method is failing for some reasons.

flex, how to print from flash / flex application...

problem:
Print is important from some applications, for any kind of receipt. Imagine that you may use resources from internet server to issue a doc at client's terminal where has nothing except a printer... i.e. tickets!

solution:
Flex supports a very easy way to print... just create a Group container (or a display container in general) and pass in addPage method...
The follow example prints itself (as I pass the this as argument to addPage method).

            internal function print():void{
                var printJob:PrintJob = new PrintJob();
                if (printJob.start()){      //this open's the dialog
                    printJob.start();       //if user choose 'print' then... start
                    printJob.addPage(this);
                    printJob.send();
                }
            }

Read the help about the PrintJob object where is not complex and it is tiny.

disadvantages:
The user has to press the print button in the system's print dialog box.
You cannot adjust the page size.

adobe flex how to pass parameters arguments from html to swf flex / flash application

problem:

how to inform an swf with some arguments / parameters with values

solution:

the solution is similar how you call an php code

Passing arguments from URL query (http://www.mycompany.com....)
http://www.mycompany.com/movie.swf?firstVar=101ps

Passing arguments from HTML code
Assuming the image filename is image1.jpg, located at a folder named images.  And assuming that the Flash movie will use a variable named imageFilename to refer to the file, then we can do this:

<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
  codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/"
  WIDTH="250" HEIGHT="300" id="flaMovie1">
  <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="flaMovie1.swf?imageFilename=images%2Fimage1%2Ejpg">
  <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high>
  <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#FFFFFF>
  <EMBED src="flaMovie1.swf?imageFilename=images%2Fimage1%2Ejpg"
    quality=high bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH="250" HEIGHT="250" NAME="flaMovie1"
    TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">
  </EMBED>
</OBJECT>

There you see that I appended a query string after the Flash movie filename (flaMovie1.swf).  The query string contains one variable: imageFilename, with the value of images/image1.jpg.
Note: The %2F is the url encoding for the "/" sign, and %2E is the url encoding for the "." sign.  Since these symbols are unsafe or reserved, we should url encode them, although at the present Flash does not seem to care.  So saying: imageFilename=images%2Fimage1%2Ejpg is essentially the same as saying imageFilename=images/image1.jpg.  (see: Introduction to URL Encoding)

Reading arguments in Flex from HTML
root.loaderInfo.parameters.firstVar
root.loaderInfo.parameters.ImageFilename
The "parameters" is an array with the arguments. The "firstVar" in Flex code is not a known variable but it is supported from Array or Flex.

how to hide (for some reason) an application(s) from your computer

problem:
in some cases you have to hide an application from your computer...
In the follow step you will learn how to hide an application from start up menu, from "add / remove" / "programs" list. Of course the application will be accessible and fully functional. In any case this way of hide will have result to hide an application from simple users and not from technicians... but is a good way to hide an application.

difficulty: 7/10 (expert users)

compatibility: winxp, win vista, win7

let's work...
